Fat Nation
I got an eriee feeling of Farenheit 911 as soon as the narrator started talking at the beggining of Supersize Me. As he pointed out all the familiar images of overweight people in our country, and the health risks sourrounding it, I thought to myself, "okay.. so what?" McDonald's is McDonald's is McDonald's. It looks good, tastes good, and as long as I don't "OD" on it, I'm safe.... right?
Right. Until I got to the bonus section called the "Smoky Fry", where a pack of fries showed NO signs of breaking down after spending 10 full weeks in a glass jar. While its meat sandwich peers were turning into rainforest-like creatures, that pack of fries looked as pristen as the day it was bought from the store. And I bet it smelled just as "good" if they had the guts to open the jar... That little experiment gave me chills all up and down. I don't think I"ll be eating fries from McDonald's, or any fastfood place, or a long long time.
So all in all, please watch the film--just as a motivator for you to at least take a break from the omnipresent fastfood restaurants.

ハウルの動く城
Certainly took me long enough to get my hands on this baby... and in the end, it was all worth it.
Set aside the tiny repeatedly theme of demsel-in-distress falls in love with young hero, this production was another fresh and imaginative take on the magic world of anime. Through a collection of characters whom we come to love, in an almost old-world setting, the main characters grab my heart right from the beginning.
Although there was not the catchy music that was omnipresent in all other films, the story along left me feeling and wishing I was in another world. The determination of the characters, the unexpected turns of the story lines, and .. just everything about the film, for the lack of better words, enticed me.
A highly recommended film to everyone. As there was never any doubt in my mind that it would even remotely disappoint in anyway, for it is a Miyazaki production.
